Ty Miller is one of a small handful of practitioners with training in Traditional Chinese Medicine, including acupuncture and Chinese herbs, as well as Applied Kinesiology, Functional Medicine, complex homeopathy, and nutritional supplements. Combining the strengths of these systems means you get the fastest, most effective, natural medicine for your body.  Ty Miller’s thoroughness sets her apart. All visits include an interview, pulse, tongue, kinesiology examination, and acupuncture treatment. Time well spent on each visit means you need to return less often.

Why the Holistic Approach?

One of the great strengths of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Kinesiology, and Functional Medicine is the diagnosis process. Diagnosis is based on the identification of patterns of imbalance in the whole body, not just the identification of the disease, so treatments are crafted to address your entire pattern as well as the symptoms or disease that prompted you to seek treatment.

What Can I Expect?

The benefits of treatment include relief of symptoms, correction of imbalances, increased vitality, and alleviation of drug side effects. Visits are typically two times per month initially. As in any form of healing, the patient’s attitude, diet, and lifestyle affect the treatment outcome. Patients are encouraged to participate actively in their own healing process.

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is the gentle placement of pins, as thin as hairs, just below the skin. Acupuncture assists the body in healing by directing nourishment to and unblocking stagnation in the meridians to improve circulation and function, relieve pain, and detoxify specific tissues or organs. Ty Miller’s practice uses gentle Japanese-style acupuncture that is considered painless. The acupuncture portion of the treatment is optional.

What is Applied Kinesiology?

Ty Miller is trained in the Spectrum Access Kinesiology system, similar to CPK. Kinesiology is a system that incorporates muscle testing to assist in the identification and treatment of conditions. A muscle being tested will go “weak” or “strong” depending on the question being “asked.” For example, while testing an arm muscle and touching the reflex point of the heart, one “asks” if the heart organ is working properly. Simply speaking, if the muscle goes “weak,” the heart needs assistance. Applied Kinesiology has been in use extensively around the globe for at least 50 years.

Hair Analysis and Saliva Testing are also available.

What is Functional Medicine?

Functional Medicine is the study of how the body functions from the perspective of cellular physiology and metabolism and how to use nutritional supplements to help the body restore function at that level. For example, defects in liver cell detoxification can lead to high cholesterol and poor hormone metabolism. The cell membranes (cell walls) of the liver are the site of many chemical reactions in the liver. The nutrient Phosphatidyl Choline helps the cell membranes of the liver perform more effectively and thus helps the liver detoxify and metabolize more effectively. This system incorporates biological terrain assessment.
